Pontus has been making quite some progress lately. Not only has he learned how to sit up by himself, he has also started to crawl around. It is maybe not crawling in the traditional sense, but he gets around. He has one knee on the ground and uses the foot of the other leg to push himself forward. Depending on his mood he either pushes himself up with his hands while he moves or, alternatively, slides around with his face flat on the floor (very entertaining!). He also seems to have warmed up to his stroller a little more as the last few times we were out did not end in the expected screamfest.
But the best has to be that he started sleeping through the night about a week ago. He usually is asleep by 20:30 h at the latest and then sleeps through until the next morning, in his own bed. What we essentially did was to organize our days, make sure that he does not sleep too long in the afternoon and follow an evening routine. It is really as unspectacular as it sounds - but what a difference it has made.

I heard about this sleeping through the night-buissiness and I find it very disturbing and provocing.
Why, why, why not my son?!
You want provoking? I can give you provoking!
Did you also get a letter from Pampers last week, containing their newest magazine? On the last page of that magazine are the results of a survey. Read it and weep!
"När började ditt barn sova hela natten?"
0-3 månader 59,79%
4-6 månader 24,31%
7-8 månader 6,93%
8 månader eller äldre 8,97%
So, 60% of all babies sleep through the night right away? Do people just not understand what "sleeping through the night" means (i.e. that waking up for food several times is NOT sleeping through, even if you do not leave the bed)? Or are they simply delusional liars (after all sleep depravation can make you hallucinate)?
Mean or stupid - you decide.
To answer your question though: Pontus has other shortcomings. Children are all special in their own little ways.
